What is NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton?
NeighbourLink is a Christian, church based organization. Volunteers from our current 20 member churches have offered to assist people in need in our own community. NeighbourLink is a ministry showing Love in Action.
What types of service do we do?
Volunteers assist people directly with services such as: driving to an appointment, delivering food from the food banks if needed or simple household repairs, and much more.
Volunteers also help through several projects such as delivering day old bread to the drop in centre, assisting families with good used beds and bedding, donating activity bags to various agencies and health centers to give to the children in crisis that they are assisting, donating handwork items to the seniors in the area nursing homes, churches coordinate cooking workshops/mentoring families, as well as assisting with cribs, diapers and formula.
Do We Duplicate the Services that agencies already do?
Yes. But only when the need cannot be met by an existing agency. NL initially refers the callers to the appropriate agency for the help they need.
