Christine’s SPRinG Story
“To God be the Glory”
Christine spent the spring season travelling to London to begin her radiation treatment. During the beginning of the treatment, Christine had a hard time getting ready and wrapping her mind around what is to come next. Her main focus was to move forward knowing that is what she had to do. She asked herself, “what can I learn through this?” and “what will be best for me and my family?”
Through this experience, Christine met many people and heard different stories and that made for a humbling experience. Christine felt God when she met her roommate, a lady who encouraged her. Through talking and listening to each other, they came to know that God placed them there for a reason.
“I was talking to this lady in the waiting room about all my worries and anxieties, and we really connected there while she shared hers [worries] with me as well, and then later that day I discovery she will be a roommate, and that really was a God thing.”
Through this and all the other ways God has revealed himself, Christine truly felt he was confirming his love for her.
The verses that describes someone needing to be “a light”, and “the salt of the earth,” encouraged her to use this experience as a way to pray for others receiving treatment and the technicians working on the patients, and to share her story and encourage those around her. Christine learned a very valuable lesson while in London receiving her treatment, and that is to become a listener first. She learned to wait and see what her daily devotion would say. She knew that God would go before her and use her; especially when she says that she’s available to God.
Psalms 23:1-3 “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right path.”
